Standards

PFA / FEP / PTFE Lined Valves
  • Cast Iron – IS 210, Gr FG – 200
  • Ductile Iron – ASTM A395
  • Cast Steel – ASTM A216 Gr. WCB
  • SS 304 – ASTM A351 CF8
  • SS 316 – ASTM A351 CF8M
  • SS 304L – ASTM A351 CF3
  • SS 316L – ASTM A351 CF3M
  • Alloy 20 – ASTM A351CN7M

Lining Thickness

Minimum Lining thickness would be 3.0 mm on all wetted parts.

Chemical Inertness of PTFE

  • Except molten alkali metals, PFA/FEP is chemically inert to most of all the chemicals and solvents.
  • The utility of PFA/FEP lined valves is to carry and are chemically inactive (inert) to chemicals like, Sulphuric and Aqua Regia, all Caustics, all Acids including Hydrofluoric, all Chlorides-Organics and any combination of above materials.
  • Merging with the chemical inertness of PFA/FEP is its distinctive non-stick property. This way PFA/FEP lined valves remove or keep down to the least the built up of deposits of the material/media which would have otherwise reduced the flow and would have adversely affected the processing operations.

Product Inspection and Testing

Hydrostatic Pressure

  • Body Test : 10 Kg/Cm2
  • Seat Test : 10 Kg/Cm2
  • (Hydrostatic pressure at room temperature with the use of clean water.)

    Electrostatic Pressure Test

It is a non-destructive high-voltage test at an output voltage of 10000 V. If electrically contacted, while examining, a visible or audible spark or both occur, then it shows that there is some defect in the lining.

    Visual Inspection

While visually inspecting it is seen that all the surfaces are free from blister, porosity or any other sort of fault. All such checks or tests are made before shipment is done.
